Van Langeland earned his Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1981. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Van has been at Ridgeview Counseling in private practice since 1982.

Teen Drug and Alcohol Prevention and Treatment
Together, Van and Jim Gibson have run the ACE Program for Wake County Public Schools since 2003. This is a drug and alcohol education and prevention program for teenagers that get caught at school violating the school's substance abuse policy.
